Athletics Honors Convocation
Each spring, the Austin College athletics department recognizes the achievements of its student-athletes at the Athletics Honors Convocation. More than 50 student-athletes are honored for their successes both on and off the field by their teammates and coaches. The awards span across all 18 varsity programs, in addition to support areas, recognizing hard work, sportsmanship, and academic and athletic success.
Every spring, Austin College faculty members invite superior students to complete the Departmental Honors Program, challenging them to use their disciplinary training to delve deeper into a topic of interest within their major. This year, 20 seniors each completed a thesis or other special project, and their diplomas will indicate “Honors in (Field)” at Commencement.
Honors Convocation is one of Austin College's most important academic traditions. At the annual event, undergraduate students are recognized for excellence in their academic endeavors. Faculty are also honored at the event that includes the procession of the senior class in caps and gowns and the faculty in full regalia.
Student Affairs Leadership Awards
Austin College’s top honors for campus leadership and involvement are handed out at the annual Student Affairs Leadership Awards dinner, which highlights the contributions to the campus community of a wide variety of individuals, organizations, and programs.
Each spring, select members of Greek fraternities and sororities are recognized for leadership and service. Organizations are recognized for various activities and for overall excellence.
